 Prior to 2006:

Karin Bravin and John Post Lee opened John Post Lee Gallery in 1991 in a small space on the 10th floor of 588 Broadway. There they exhibited work by: Fabian Marcaccio, Carl Ostendarp, Chris Pfister, Alexis Rockman, Megan Williams, Kenny Goldsmith, Daniel Weiner and Emil Lukas. They also curated numerous group exhibitons. Among them: Interzone, Ornament: Ho Hum All ye Faithful, and The Third Rail

In 1994 the gallery changed its name to Bravin Post Lee (the two married) and moved to a ground floor space at 80 Mercer Street. There they continued to exhibit the aforementioned artists and had exhibitions of work by Jennifer Steinkamp, Monique Prieto, Robert Melee, Lee Boroson, Jonathan Seliger, Jonathan Lasker, and Chris Finley.

In 2001 the newly formed partnership of Karin Bravin, John Post Lee and Jay Gorney opened Gorney Bravin + Lee in a large ground floor space at 534 West 26th Street. The gallery mounted shows of James Siena, Sarah Charlesworth, Gillian Wearing, Justine Kurland, Allen Ruppersberg, Uwe Kowski, Cathy Opie, Neil Jenney, Simon Periton, Fabian Marcaccio, James Welling, and Barbara Bloom among others.

In 2006, the pair moved to the second floor of The Chelsea Art Building and renamed themselves (yet again) BravinLee programs. They focus their attention on their exhibition program, artist rug program, site-specific/public art program and an artist book program. They curate outside of the gallery, lecture, teach, participate in art fairs, and foster an active art advisory. In their spare time, they hang out with their two grown children (who are actively involved with the gallery) and their dog Leroy (who is not).
